Search for the Good Life
Director/Producer/Writer
Voyages Television (www.voyage.tv) is an international channel and broadband network which boasts original programming and e-commerce all devoted to offering would-be travelers an intimate and fresh look at some the world’s best vacation destinations.
The role of the writer, director, and producer of Voyages Television’s pilot, Search For the Good Life: Boutique Hotels, was to outline the series, cast the host, direct, producer and write the pilot, “Boutique Hotels”. Megan Meany of NBC News was cast as the host. The piece showcased locations by the hottest boutique hoteliers, including Andre Balazs, Vikram Chatwall, and Jeff Klein.
Boutique hotels pride themselves on unique amenities, so our host not only explored the hotel but also sampled some of their one-of-a-kind perks including a 5-course meal overlooking Manhattan’s East Side, an aruveydic massage at Deepak Chopra’s spa and tasted morsels prepared by renowned chef, Daniel Boulud.

This is the story of Martin and Gracia Burham, American missionaries vacationing in the Philippines. It is a story of tragedy, loss and finally salvation. Martin (pictured left) and another American were killed during their year-long ordeal in the jungles of the Philippines. His wife, Gracia was the only American to be rescued alive.
I was assigned the story as a news producer at The Early Show (not 48 Hours). The families stateside were eager to get word of their loved-ones and when a video of the couple surfaced for a fee of $50,000 dollars (way too steep for the morning news), I negotiated a deal with 48 Hour. They shared the footage and The Early Show shared their oversees resources, notes and contacts. The result was a two-part, primetime series, interview with President Arroyo and pressure to free the Americans.
